Z-Speed Southern Meeting - 14th January 1990

Nearly 30 Zs turned up for this first meeting in Bournemouth.  The Z Speed garage was open for the members to have a walk around, with everyone ritring to ‘The Grange’ later.  The local reporter was at the hotel and recorded over 35 Zs and 100 people in total. Great for a first meeting.

AGM - 27th March 1990

This meeting was not heavily attended, but many new members attended, congratulations to them because having an AGM as a first meeting can be a shock. New Committee members include Jon & Bev newlyn as Membership secretaries and Kevin Bristow, who will keep everyone updated on the rallying scene. The primary request from members was for an all colour magazine, this was prohibitive on cost grounds, but the the printers agreed to print a colour front page at no extra charge.

North West Z Group - 8th April 1990

The first meeting of th NWZG took place at Wardley’s Creek, Hambleton, near Blackpool. For a first meeting that didn’y have too much pre-organisation, a quite satisfactory turn out of 7 Zs in teh car park was very pleasing to the eye, with people travelling from as far away as Wirral and Penrith.

Nissan’s Open Day - Washington - 8th September 1990

For anyone who was south of the M4, the day started at about 02:00.  Lynne Godber left Andover at 02:40 and met up with Martin Curtis at 04:00 and didn’t stop until 05:30 when they stopped for refreshments.

As planned, Lynne and Martin arrived at 09:00 outside the Nissan Factory in Sunderland.  Mike Ramsey was there with his 240Z, along with Brian Baker and his Samuri, Michelle Coleman with her 240Z, raymond Hastings and his 240Z, Len Welch with his 260Z , Stuart Watton with his 2+2, with Jon and Bev Newlyn, not forgetting Zoe with their 240Z.  David Mears and Steve Moreman’s 240Zs finished an impressive line up.  The Register ws given the best possible site between the arena and the Sunderland Aircraft Museum.

The tsnad ws full all afternoon with genuinely interested people as the Z is a rare site around here.  Each Z did a lap of honour aroudn the arena before leaving to head south.  Seven of the eight Zs headed south that night, ariving home around midnight that night.  Jon Newlyn decided to sleep in his Z at a Service Station on the M1 and continued the trip the next day.
